Taiwan Launches Global Call for Health Innovation Proposals

To bolster Taiwan’s prominence in global health and foster international collaboration, the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has tasked the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) with launching a worldwide call for proposals themed “Go Healthy with Taiwan.”

This initiative invites governments, institutions, enterprises, and organizations worldwide to submit pioneering proposals integrating Taiwan’s premium health products and holistic solutions. The goal is to elevate global health standards and promote well-being across cities, communities, and business environments globally.

During the official launch on Tuesday, June 3, Ms. Susan Hu, Deputy Director General of TITA, highlighted President Lai Ching-te’s vision for a “Healthy Taiwan.” This campaign represents a crucial stride towards realizing this vision by inviting global innovators to collaborate in shaping a healthier and more sustainable future.

Mr. Joe Chou, Executive Vice President of TAITRA, emphasized that this global call showcases Taiwan’s robust health industry and encourages partnerships to develop smart, sustainable lifestyles through cutting-edge technologies.

The event featured a dynamic baseball-themed setting symbolizing Taiwan’s proactive international engagement. Taiwanese baseball star Mr. An-Ko Lin and the mascot “Fu Bear” of Taiwan Excellence exemplified Taiwan’s commitment to delivering top-tier health solutions globally.

Esteemed guests included Mr. Robert Wu, Chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Association; Mr. Jeff Chen, President of the Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association; and Mr. Spark Huang, Director of the Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association, alongside media representatives from 12 international outlets and members of the foreign diplomatic corps.

The “Go Healthy with Taiwan” campaign spotlights five key sectors: smart healthcare technologies, medical aesthetics and wellness checkups, fitness equipment, sports technologies, and bicycles. Taiwan, renowned as the “Bicycle Kingdom,” leads in high-end bicycle manufacturing and sustainable supply chain practices.

Taiwanese firms excel as top global suppliers of fitness equipment, integrating AI technologies with strong R&D capabilities. In smart healthcare, Taiwan combines ICT and semiconductor expertise with advanced medical systems, offering comprehensive solutions for the global health tech market.

Following the success of last year’s “Go Green with Taiwan” campaign, which drew 396 submissions from 45 countries, this year aims for over 500 submissions across five continents. Top proposals stand to win US$30,000 each, with all high-quality entries exploring collaboration opportunities with Taiwanese companies.

The submission period runs from May 15 to August 14, 2025. For further details, visit gohealthy.taiwanexcellence.org.
